Major in Economics
Which is better to go??

I wouldn’t recommend this being the criteria you use to decide.
This is the least of the differences between the 2 schools.

Also, you don’t have to major in econ to go into business (as you mentioned that possibility in another post)… Gerald Levin (CEO of Time Warner Cable in the 1990s) was a religion major at Haverford as one extreme example.

At Haverford, you can take classes at Penn, including Wharton now, if that interests you.

BTW, I attended Haverford, majored in History of Art at Bryn Mawr and got my MBA with Distinction at NYU Stern.

Luckie Starchild
I’m very interested in taking classes at Penn, BMC and Swat. I just wanna know can I take any courses in other schools during the entire 4 yrs in Haverford? Are there any requirements and restrictions when I choose the courses?

Haverford students can take any course that’s offered at Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore. There are restrictions on courses at Penn: we may only take undergraduate and Master’s level courses at the College of Arts and Sciences which are not offered at Haverford or Bryn Mawr, and a select number of courses at Wharton. The restrictions are not a big issue because most students would not be interested in the off-limits courses anyway (PhD level courses, nursing, engineering, etc).

Haverford requires that you take at least 8 courses on campus (meaning you can take 24+ courses off campus if you so desire) and you might need the permission of your major adviser if you want to take core classes for your major at another college. Other than that you are free to explore the other colleges in the area!
