Would I be able to have large packages delivered i.e. my entire dorm decorations/lights/linens delivered including a futon?
If so where would I pick it up?

Hey, there is a website called [Student Shipping Services | Ship to School](http://www.ship2school.com) & basically what they do is send you what they call a “box kit” & you fill the boxes with whatever you need shipped. then, they pick up the boxes from your house & ship the boxes straight to your dorm & they are waiting for you when you move in :D. I’m not 100% sure how it works but the website will tell you.

Haha, thanks. But I’m international so I’m buying everything when I get there. I really meant having items shipped from walmart online to the dorm.
:)

ooh okay. hmm i’m not really sure about that. i mean we do have a few days before class starts after we move in so i guess you could just buy whatever you need once we’re there but idk lol sorry!

My roommate this year’s dad sent her huge boxes of food every month, and they were delivered right to the dorms. The thing I would more worry about with a futon is how you’re going to get it up the stairs o.O (or are you assuming you’ll have it by the time your parents come up to help you move in?

What I highly, highly recommend you do for a variety of reasons is rent a truck, go to IKEA (it’s about an hour away from MSU, but it’s on the way if you’re coming from Detroit airport to MSU) and get your stuff and have your parents help you move in. I think it would just be a heck of a lot easier in the long run.

Best of luck :)

Yea with the futon it should be (hopefully) there while my parents are there.

@romani, your ikea idea sounds good, but there are some stuff that I really want from walmart that are only sold online >.< haha, but I think I should just stop being so picky.

Thanks :)

Yeah it really doesn’t matter what size it is, they’ll typically send you an email when you have a package and you go to the front office of the dorm to pick it up. If it is something as big as a futon they can still accommodate it (I don’t know the details exactly but if you get a package sent to you no matter what size it is you’ll be able to receive it one way or another, just ask details when you get to MSU).

^^ Thanks, sounds good then
