My husband handed in proof that our son is insured with health insurance in order to get out of the $1000 or so health fee. However, we have not received anything in the mail that the proof was accepted (proof was letter from our insurance company that our son is insured). What is supposed to happen? Does USC mail a letter or should I call student health?

If I remember right from what happened last year, you will NOT receive anything formal. You will know when they do not charge your son's account.

To be absolutely sure, I would call. I just called the Student Health Insurance office yesterday to ask if the insurance fee was waived for this coming year and they verified for me that it was.

You should have received some kind of receipt when you handed it in. Otherwise, the only proof is that the health insurance is removed from the bill.
