Anyone who completed their app near the beginning of Nov hear anything? I am just wondering cause I was done Nov 9th and I am just waiting for something back. I still have my medical but I am hoping for an LOA.

Remember, it is the Navy. ;-) You may not hear anything until after the first of the year, but I'm sure you'll be in good company. Good luck!

I finished my application in November as well, and I received an LOA today! So I guess they're still sending them out. Frankly, I don't really see how I got it, as the stats of everyone else here seem to be much higher.

Good luck!

I sent my application in during September, but my math recommendation was not completed till 10/20 (from the CIS). That being said, I took the PAE again, in the past couple of weeks, and improved, what I think is a great deal. On the CIS it's waiting for a resubmission of the PAE by my School PE teacher, but he sent a letter and my score sheet from USMMA (identical test to USNA). Does this mean they just want the test on the same piece of paper as it usually would be on?

What I don't get, is I have not heard a word. I am reading about applications being in in November and getting word. Granted most of these are LOA's. What I am thinking is that I may not be as competitive and they may have moved me into another pile and will look at me later. Or perhaps they don't want to just send me an appointment when they hear from my Congressman and not spend the time on the LOA...yea there's wishful thinking for you!
Any opinions? I will contact my B&G Officer on the matter after I hear back from my Congressman about the nomination. If I don't receive one then it seems rather pointless to bother him, but otherwise it will be.

Thanks

Joel, do you have a nomination yet? I also had my application done by early November and your post makes me wonder if I, too, might get an LOA; by the way, that would be awesome & congratulations to you! But I won't know if I get a nomination until mid-January. Does anyone know if, at this point in time, there's a chance that I could get a LOA if I'm not yet triple-q'd?

Bria~My son's completed application was done in June and posted to the site mid-July. He did not have any action until his B&G interview in late Sept. He heard that he was Qualified in mid to late October a few weeks before he went to CVW. I believe that you either receive 1. no response/still evaluating 2. Qualified letter or 3. LOA. I don't think there is necessarily any communication unless there is a reason. He also had communication on the VP Nomination (just that his request had been received) but that's it. Now with a nomination we will probably wait until mid April to hear. Remember that is the excpected time frame. For him, it's time to enjoy school, activities and focus on other schools that will offer opportunities if he does not have / or chooses not to take the opportunity to attend USNA. For all that make it to this stage you should be very proud of your accomplishment. It sure makes the other college apps.look like a piece of cake! Happy Holidays:-)

Bria,

Yes, I just received my congressman's letter Christmas Eve -- I'm nominated to both USNA and WP!

Oh, and I'm not triple Q'd. I have one last remedial with DoDMERB to clear up.

Best of luck to you!

Big CONGRATS, Joel! You've worked hard for this and for that, there is no doubt. You deserve the recognition. :) :) :)

Congrats to your daughter wstcoastmom!

Congrats Joel & wstcoastmom!!!

Congratulations Joel, & to your daughter, too, wcmom! I am also waiting on a remedial...it really sucks waiting.

Hope you guys all had a good holiday, I did. By the way, where are you other Southern CA people from?

bria,

I've seen that some people have gotten nominations for multiple academies. Are they allowed to do whatever they wish? My congressman made me choose which academy I wanted the nomination for...but I was under the impression that the person I was talking to over the phone didn't quite know what they were talking about and they were also very stubborn. Just wondering whether others have congressmen(women) that are only allowing candidates to choose one academy for the nomination. Some insight would be appreciated, thanks!

My son's Congressmen wanted a top choice from my son and it was indicated
that he would only nominate my son to one academy.

In very competitive areas, most MOC will only nominate an individual to a single academy, and make the applicant indicate their choice on the application form prior to submission. (Exception probably for candidates with multiple LOA. I don't know if the MOC contact each other and decide who is awarding the nomination to which academy or even if they contact each other at all)

In less competitive areas, MOC seem to award multiple nominations to a single candidate.

In our state one senator waits to interview until the middle of January. Candidates who already have a nomination are disqualified from consideration.

I've only heard of people receiving a nomination to a single academy in my state. I received two--one from my Congressman--for the Naval Academy, and one from my Senator, for West Point. I, too, had to indicate on my application my choice prior to submission.

I've heard that MOC's discuss candidate applications, and who should get what. Maybe this is why candidates were only selected for one academy, or only got one nomination. By the way, I live in Nevada.
