Hi I am wondering when the heating service will start for McCormick dorms. I tried turning the knob on the radiator but nothing is happening.

they switch it over once it starts getting cold... and won't switch it back to A/C (in places like brown) until a week or two before finals. get ready for suffocating heat...

It is getting cold!

heat is on in brown

Um, yeah. The last time I checked it was a few degrees above freezing. In a few days, it'll probably dip below freezing and the heat still won't be on in McCormick. I'll be able to freeze a glass a water on my window sill but that doesn't count as "cold".

luckily, some of the guys downstairs have heat (I don't question how) and me and my roommate ended up sleeping there to avoid freezing. Our room is like a popsicle.

It's pretty crazy that the heat isn't on yet. Yesterday morning it was 28˚ when I went for breakfast, there was definitely frost on the ground. Even in Alderman, which I'm sure has more insulation than McCormick, the rooms are starting to get cold at night.

They haven't turned the heat on for a few reasons
1. it's not just flipping a switch
2. it's still 60-70 degrees during the day. If it was on now, you'd be complaining, trust me.
3. if you shut your window and door and put a towel or something in the window sill (to keep cold air from leaking in) it will help immensely.

This is a weird part of the year. It's cold at night, hot during the day. Give it a week, things will settle down and it'll get chilly enough day-round to have the heat on.
