Hello?

(opens door)

Hello?

(echo)

sigh

D definitely will be applying here. Anyone else?

Our son will apply to Rhodes.

Hey! I, too, am applying to Rhodes.

Did both of you visit Rhodes?

Out of curiosity, where else are you/your daughter applying? For us, the other schools are Rice, WashU, Emory, Centenary College, and LSU.

The Bellingraths won't divide by four.;) Count D in, too! Yes, she has visited. 4 times. Her list is so embarrassingly long and disparate I can't bring myself to post it but the main 6 that are at least sort of similar in size and make up (although obvious differences exist) are Hamilton, Scripps, Centre, Millsaps, Hendrix, and Hanover. Add to that a few larger schools and a couple of northern need only LAC's and you have it. Total anarchic pandemonium.

We've visited once, and she has a good friend who is a sophomore there. D is looking at Allegheny, Carleton, Davidson, and Tulane, among others.

Do you think they take you through the most confusing dorm on the tour on purpose?

Does anyone know who ( their stats) actually received the Bellingraths last spring (class of 2009)?

I haven't visited yet?I don't even know if I can (we're from Buffalo, NY so it's pretty far away). I've been on a bunch of those campus tours on the internet and got somewhat of a "feel" for the campus (it is drop-dead gorgeous!).
I'm applying to U of Rochester, Kenyon, Beloit, Lawrence University, and Dickinson College. I'm going to pursue studies in ancient art, history, and archaelogy, as well as music composition.

Londonb, I sent you a PM.

Are International students elligible for Bellingrath?
Though I know that I hadn't met the deadline.Sigh

There's nothing on the Bellingrath information to indicate that the nominee must be a US citizen, so it looks like its open to internationals.

I C
But in the past has there been any?
I'm also wondering what stat Bellingrathers have.

im applying to rhodes too! =)

Anybody hear anything about scholarships? Bellingrath finalists?

Not yet. I think they have changed the notification date from March 1 to March 15. Bummer.

Actually, my D received notice as a Bellingrath finalist over a week ago. Very exciting! Apparently, they invite 21, then split them into 3 groups and pick one from each group - odd.

It was a little tricky because the scholarship weekend starts Sat. afternoon on 4/1, but she returns from a UK school trip that evening. Rhodes was very gracious about allowing her to arrive late and join the activities Sun. morning.

Congratulations to your daughter! Let us know how things turn out.
