Help 10x5 = 6

Ignore the title.. after being rejected by UF i've lost all sense of sense.
I need your opinion CC should I go to CC?
Major: Chemistry Name: Gator boy 305 847 0456(Do not call it's not my real number... unless you're hot(female) in which case it is my real number and you should HMU)( Did I just break a rule by putting something with paranthese inside another paranthese? Blood type <--- Heard this was a big deal with admissions: A+ <--- same grade I got in AP CHEMISTRY WOOP WOOP (5 on test) :))))
I have several options:
FSU (LOL) no but in all seriousness what are your thoughts on your rivals is FSU just a bad school or a good school like UF?
UCF: Not worth it imo.
USF: Ditto ^^^
FIU: I get like 8grand back a year but I dont want to graduate from FI poo is it harder to transfer for a four year Uni than a community college? What's the difference between starting @ UF and transferring there regardless of where I do it from... is there a difference in degrees? Am I not a gator in the eyes of my peers? I want to be a doctor would the dreaded CC hold moi back? That is all my fellow reptilians (I think Gators are reptiles o.0)
I await your response!!!
Go Noles!!!
P.S I know I seem like i'm joking but I just wanted it to be entertaining and after the recent rejections I want to liven this forum up but I really do need advice because my CAP advisor knows nothing.

I’d go to FSU, USF, or UCF, whichever has the best department for your major. FSU is the top school out of those, but I don’t think of it as much for sciences. I wouldn’t do community college because what if you still don’t get into UF at the end of it, and then, you have squandered the opportunity to have a real college experience? Ditto, FIU. I think it IS harder to transfer from a 4-year-college than a 2-year, which is why I think you should choose the one you like, go there, do your best, and if you still want to transfer, try, but you’ll be in more of a position of strength. FSU is FINE. Honestly, it’s only been very recently that it’s gotten so hard to get into UF. Most of the grownups (i.e., people who will be hiring you) think of UF and FSU as similar schools. That said, there is NO disadvantage in going to 2 years of community college in grad school admissions. If anything, they think you’ve struggled more, which is an advantage. I know someone who went from Miami-Dade to UM to Georgetown Law. So, basically, I think anything other than FIU is a good choice (because you will just get stuck there), and you should decide whether it is important to you to have the complete 4-year college experience or if you don’t care.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Yea I got a little bit more informed and saw that UF is ranked 36 in chemistry whilst FSU is 50 something… not that big of a difference and in the end you learn based on how much you study… not on where you go. My biggest question was about the community college thing and it was answered but then I have another question… If there really is no difference between CC and going to UF for 4 years why waste the exorbitant amount of money that most (not all) dont have o.0 that’s why I thought there had to be some kind of disadvantage… In the end ill probably end up at FSU for undergrand then UF for grad… dk about their med school I have to check it out… but i’m sure like most things @ UF it’s very good. Not too sure what i’ll wear to games though… O.O but there will be a time for that in the very near future ( i’m thinking garnet and blue because orange and gold looks dumb ).

Sadly CornandTOOTHPICK (interesting username btw…) I can’t respond to your pm :frowning: NOT ENOUGH POSTING BRAH. Idk what kind of math you’re doing but 5x6=19… As for the comment i’m sure you meant it sarcastically… ( I hope you did )… Or perhaps you don’t want Community College kids @ UF but sadly… it’s a state school and they will have to be dealt with… - Enjoy the farm… I hope the harvest is plentiful come this fall.

The disadvantage in going to community college (other than the fact that it’s not as much fun) is the uncertainty. You may go all the way through community college and still not get to UF. My daughter’s cousin only applied to UF, only wanted to go there. When she didn’t get in, she enrolled at MDC in the Honors College. Like you, she aspires to med school. Someone from UF told her that if she got straight A’s for her whole AA, she would definitely get into UF. She figured how hard could it be? It’s Miami-Dade. You know what? It’s actually not that easy to get straight A’s at Miami-Dade. She’s taking a bunch of hard science class, and there are actually a LOT of smart kids at MDC because there are a lot of smart kids who either want to save money or who aren’t allowed to go away to college. So she’s been sweating it out at MDC all year, and she says she wishes she’d just gone to UCF or something because then, she’d at least know she was in a four-year college (and if ever there was a girl who belongs in a sorority, it’s her). AND she committed to MDC for 2 years to get into the Honors College, so she can’t just apply to transfer to UCF from now.

That said, if it’s all about money, do MDC (I’m assuming you’re in Miami because of your reference to FIU). Just don’t expect it to be easier than a 4-year college. If you can afford it, go to FSU.

Wow that actually makes alot of sense… But I thought the whole thing was that UF HAD TO ACCEPT YOU if you got an A.A from CC like (Santa Fe or MDC) and yea i’m in Miami. I also have a crap load of scholarship money (10K in total) so thats about 7k uncounted for and I wouldn’t really mind having to work during my time at FSU. The only real reason I want to go to UF is because of peoples infatuation with being a Gator and the connections graduating from there brings. And yea you’re right I thought that Community College was really easy… I was obviously under the wrong impression and I actually considered MDC honors… but eh… Btw congratulations on having a daughter that got accepted to UF!!! :).

If you do your AA at a CC, you will get into A Florida college. But it doesn’t have to be UF, and it doesn’t have to be FSU. Therefore, if you’re already accepted at FSU, you should take the sure thing unless money is a huge consideration. Good luck!

UF doesn’t HAVE to accept AA students. At UF every major has a certain set of prerequisite and GPA requirements and there are a few majors with severe space limitations. The competitiveness of admission just depends on what you want to do.

Ahh ok thank you for clearing up that misinterpretation planted there by my CAP advisor… Mostly leaning toward FSU and happy to fit the " Didn’t get into UF? Go to FSU" stereotype  So with that said. I HATE YOU ALL (dramatic exit with warchant) This years game will be different because I shall be their waterboy!!

Made me laugh

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I can now die peacefully! Although you were unclear as to why you were laughing…

hopeful crocodile, I LOVED your intro post! Thanks for making a fellow stressed-out applicant smile. :)
