Hey folks. Well, here's the scoop. I was home schooled for nearly all of high school, and I didn't really get out that much - hardly at all, actually, partly because I live in a little podunk town that has a population of about 100 people.

College this fall is creeping up on me, and I want to make a good impression when I start. I might be a little lacking socially since i've been pretty isolated, so I think that some good clothing might help matters out a bit. Here's the problem though. What do college guys wear though, and more importantly, what looks good? I could say in a second what clothing looks good on a girl, but I don't have a clue what looks good on a guy?

Could you girls give me some tips on what you think looks the best on the opposite sex? What sort of winter and summer clothes have you seen on guys on campus that particularly stands out and makes a good impression at a glance? Colors? (Pictures or even descriptions would be welcome)

Well are you on any sort of budget/limited financially? I could recommend some places for you to shop for clothes but I dont want to post anything uber expensive lol

i absolutely love polos and dark jeans on guys, but i'm more into that preppy, clean cut look than most girls are, i think. but dark jeans>>>ripped, ratty jeans and just be hygienic and you'll be fine!

Just buy a good pair of jeans ( you can go diesel or seven for all man kind if you don't mind spending a bit more, or you can find a good pair of jeans in a ton of places) and pair it with different t-shirts ( but PLEASE stay away from those "funny, joke" graphic tees, like the ones that say " I'll be your personal dancer"or that sort of crap, they are horrible and cheesy.

Along with others' suggestions of jeans and simple shirts, make sure you have a pair of decent sneakers. You can't go wrong with a pair of classic adidas, in my opinion, and they can be worn with almost every casual outfit.

if you pop your collar, you are guranteed to have people automatically hate you.. and once again as stated above, NEVER wear the tshirts with the "funny text" and no the "i went to find myself, if i return before i get back keep me here" is NOT funny at all.

Just go to abercrombie or hollister or somethin, pick up a couple polos and a few tshirts.. then go to american eagle for jeans... wayyy cheaper and no one really cares about jeans for the most part (if they do they are prolly stuck of women or gay guys... you choose)

Conforming to social pressures like this defines conformity. Just get some decent looking jeans and shirts, but they don't have to have names on them like abercrombie or hollister.

have to agree with whoever asked how much you're wanting to spend on clothes.

personaly, i don't buy into the whole abercrombie/ae/hollister thing, for the most part.
as a whole, all of the clothes there are over priced.

ralph lauren, lacoste, english laundry, burberry, vineyard vines, diesel, brooks brothers, seven...that's not to say that they aren't expensive, but you get what you pay for

fashion..hmm...go to Milan. i think italy is famous for suites and also many of women's attire....for shoes, my guess is spain...watch, swiss (at least a while ago).
this is IF u want to look latin

if u want to look wise, don't give any attention to ur health, looks, clothes, etc. let ur beard grow.

I probably couldn't afford expensive clothes or specific name brands. I would be buying clothes from target or wal-mart. I'm mostly just wondering about which styles look the best. I live in the Midwest, so the climate isn't too hot during a typical school year.

By styles, jeans and jean shorts (beat up or new looking), sweat pants, gym shorts, khaki pants or shorts, army pants/shorts, cargo shorts, wind pants (guessing those are a no), 'suit' pants. For shirts, I don't know.. plain tees, logos, polos, lighter or darker colors, stripes, muscle shirts?

It sounds like people think jeans and polos are a good match. When I went down to tour the campus, I wore something pretty similar to this, though the shirt was a different shade of green and had more of a 'washed' look to it:

Think that's too dressed up for college? I didn't see many students when I went down since it was after class hours, but the few I saw looked much more casually dressed. I saw a lot of jeans. When we got home, my mom commented that she couldn't get over how "scuzzy" (I think that was the word) most of them looked. I just shrugged.. I don't have a clue what's popular.

Yay! Another midwesterner on CC! Well, Target has some pretty stylish clothes, everyone at my school loves to get clothes from there--"popular people, "normal people" people really like the clothes there. If you go to American Eagle, the have a clearance rack, and you can find some cool clothes there...Aeropostale is pretty good price-wise, in my opinion...they have a lot of 2 for $20 deals when it comes to shirts..

As a GUY, I find that whenever I can afford it (rarely) I shop at Express for men (formerly Structure). Absolutely my favorite clothing styles, great jeans, great collared shirts (that's mostly what I wear) and the T-shirts are un-objectionable.

a suite italian made, an EL CANTO shoes, a rolex, black shirt and green tie, red socks, die ur hair black (if u are blond), cosmetic surgeries....and then just hitch u hand on ur waist and try to act stern.
