The College "Look" for me is really similar to that of my high school "look."

One thing I did change is I do not even have a single pair of jeans at school. I have only worn jeans like maybe twice in the last year.

I wear a lot of khaki pants with either a nice t-shirt, a long sleeve shirt, or a polo. Also, I wear a lot of windpants and usually the jacket that goes with them.

My favorite outfit would have to be khaki pants, adidas polo, adidas windjacket, and adidas tennis shoes.

For guys:
Class: T-shirts, cargo shorts or jeans.
Parties: polo shirt, or nice button down, cargo shorts or jeans
Bars: Button down, and nice jeans

My favorite brands were: Banana Republic, Guess, Express for Men, Sometimes JCrew

Everyone where I go to school (usually) has a really laid back style. T-shirts and jeans, or shorts if it's warm. Girls might wear a little bit cuter top some days, but they live in t-shirts too. Guys wear polos a fair bit in addition to tees. We all live in flip-flops unless it's like, January, and even then, some people still wear em. The fashion major girls and the peeps on modeling board are the only ones who really dress nice all the time.

I think designer jeans are overpriced. There's no reason you should need a pair of jeans that costs $175. They say that it's really good quality or whatever, but I have Levi's that I've had since senior year of high school-- and I'm a junior in college now--that are still in great condition (that I wear ALOT) and they were like $40. Like, you shouldn't buy stuff from wal-mart, but don't buy Seven and Lucky jeans just because.

In college you get alot of free (or really cheap) t-shirts, so I wear those alot.

I guess it depends whether you are dressing for warm or cold weather. My S who is in school in Florida wears jeans or cargo shorts, sandals, t-shirts from his favoite music group or Billabong, Element, Addiction. If it gets a little cool...a sweatshirt.

brands don't matter, just wear what you like. People even go to class in a sweatshirt & pajama pants for pete's sake - that just shows how fashion conscience everyone is.

Hmm... typical college student at UCLA is wearing jeans (not uncommon to see Seven's, True Religion's, etc.), UCLA gear (sweat-shirts, print t's), t-shirts (often with Hollister logo), solid colored tank-tops, and very often (any time of the year) flip-flops.

Jeans and sweatshirts are pretty much the standard fare for guys and girls around here. People wear a lot of UC Davis clothes. It's always casual, I rarely see people dressed up.

Not many of us dump our closet after our high school graduation. We carry them along with us and supplement them as taste develops. This development is helped by whatever clothing store closest to our school. NYU will have a very different style than Notre Dame for example. Of course the occasion fad hits everyone so all the girls (and some of the metro guys) will continue to wear those hideous ugg boots (seriously, they are very ugly!).

Here's a link to a Washington Post article today which is really pertinent to this thread. Note it talks especially about Washington and Lee, Howard, and other DC area colleges, but mentions others. Enjoy!

I'm SOOOOO tired of seeing Hollister clothing at the college I'm dual-enrolled at. Seriously. It's everywhere, and makes me want to puke. You are not stylish just because you bought an overpriced, thin tee-shirt. You do not look good just because you paired bright orange, yellow, and aqua together. The Hollister totes annoy me, too. (And I'm not just bitter about this because I can't afford Hollister wear, or whatever. It's just so overworn!)
