Help a Rising Senior With Schools!

Hey guys.
I am a rising senior and need more schools added to my list.
I plan to visit these schools this summer if you guys recommend some that I like.

I am planning on majoring in applied mathematics in hopes of becoming an actuary.
My SAT scores are 2150 (610 CR 760 M 780W) and I am retaking in October to get a 700+ on CR.
My GPA is ~3.9 and my school doesn't rank.

These schools are already on my list.

Princeton
MIT
Columbia
Carnegie Mellon
NYU
SUNY Geneseo
SUNY Binghampton
University of Delaware

I am looking for schools that have good financial aid (Family of 5 with income of 70k living in NYC).

Thank you guys.

26 Views; no responses? Bump!

The verbal score seems a bit low for Princeton, MIT, and Columbia. Though on target or above for the rest.

NYU is notoriously stingy with financial aid.

Yea, I am trying to get a 700 on CR when I retake in October.

if you increase your SAT, look into stanford/duke/penn. i don’t know how penn is with finaid though.

princeton math is in it’s own league though, i must admit. and fin aid is amazing.

Your non super reach schools are not good choices when you need considerable aid. Unless you’d be happy with a SUNY, you should add match schools that have good aid.

If you’re female, schools like Smith, Barnard and Holyoke offer generous aid. Otherwise, Claremont McKenna which is a reach with current scores but nothing like Princeton, MIT and Columbia. Ad Maybe some of the MW LACs like Grinnell, Mac and Carleton.

I am just praying for Princeton, even though I know the chances are very small, but who knows. Theres always that little chance.
Im looking for some more reach schools that are good with fin. aid in the Northeast but I can’t seem to find them.
I am a male aswell.
