Help: Andover, Choate, Deerfield, Exeter, Groton, Hotchkiss, Milton, Saint Paul's

I would say Exeter is the best, since most students matriculated to harvard during the 1900's, but any one of them is a good pick

I guess I'd go with Choate. "Living god" certainly beats out kings and presidents. I'm trying to figure out which miracles I need to perform and in what order so that I can be beatified in record time (after finishing Harvard, becoming Pope, etc). Any one have any suggestions? Are there any miracles that just seem so run-of-the-mill typical to you?

Bong water into wine is impressive but hard to incorporate into a boarding school essay. Both the beginning and the end product are contraband.

By the way, kudos to BiggestFoot whose post regarding the Bill Clinton t-shirt passed under the radar without nearly the attention it deserved. Great post.

Well, I was an aide to Bill Clinton, but I can say no more except I still have the shirt

Thanks for all the posts, i appreciate all the responses about the various schools, but still, can some one please tell me which one is the most "perfect" experience?

It all depends on what you're looking for, though, doesn't it?

I am struggling to understand how anyone could read this thread and then respond with anything approaching sincerity. Are there that many boarding school applicants, aspirants and parents who cannot recognize satire? Sad. Really sad.

I was surprised at this also. Obviously this thread is a joke, people....come on!

I don't understand what you mean about this thread, but that is OK. Can someone help me find the best BS program in satire for my DD? I am looking for reputation as well as rigor.

Thanks!

Grejuni,
This thread is a joke. The original poster started it to poke fun at how stressed people were about gaining admission to the "right" school and how much importance they had placed on the "big-name" schools.
The right school for your daughter is a very personal choice and cannot be based on name or prestige. Many of the schools beyond those well-known names offer academics that are just as rigorous. You really have to do your research, look at the view books, and visit the schools.

laxtaxi, i am surprised that some do not see the joke. i feel bad about having started this for that reason but i see that you can take this stuff too seriously.

nhfootballer....no, laxtaxi is saying that she is schocked at the people who think the thread is real. She knows its a joke.

sorry i should have written that "one can take this stuff too seriously."

Keylyme, I think you missed Grejuni's sarcasm this time!

I think we need to start a new thread, asking complete strangers which school is the best fit for my third cousin, twice removed.

Well, maybe I did (I hope), because I was really taken aback when she said she was looking for "the best bs program in satire". So....guilty as charged (I think).

No problem, Keylyme, we can't all be on top of our game all the time. Now back to my third cousin, any ideas?

This thread is EXACTLY what we all needed. Thank you for starting it, in all seriousness. There is way too much comparing, analyzing, etc. of schools here. Let's remember that we're talking about high school!! Not all that serious in the scheme of things.

Don't listen to obama08, who obviously is scheming to get the rest of us to let down our guards. Don't give in! Maintain the stress! Be ever vigilant! Uneasy rests the crown and all that! Third cousin, twice removed - if ever I've seen a feint for distraction's sake that was it. Don't fall for it!

Now once again, back off - your heavy stress-altered breathing is fogging my sceptre.

Laxtaxi - I agree with you! People are withholding info and trying to get us off the scent of Excellence.

Does anyone have any info about which BS has the Olympic Torch going through their campus this year? My DH thinks we should look into where the Pope and the Dalai Lama send their kids. That would be a good shortlist.

The Pope's children MUST go to either Canterbury or Portsmouth Abby being that they are Catholic schools. We did a visit to Canterbuy and they didn't mention it, so it HAS to be Portsmouth Abby then. (I'm SURE Canterbury would tell all perspective Catholic parents if the Pope sent his kids there). I know they are not "top tier ranked," but I can't imagine he would allow his children to go to a non-catholic school.
The Dalai Lama...humm...that one is harder to figure out.
