Hello everyone!

I'm trying to decide on a school to commit to for early decision.

My top three choices are NYU, Duke, and UNC Chapel Hill.

However, I'm kind of nervous about my stats.

My highest SAT score is an 1860 with a breakdown of:
600 - CR, 630 - Math, 630 - Writing on the October 2013 exam.

I took the September ACT and got the following subscores:
30 - English
28 - Math
18 - Reading
27 - Science
Composite score of 26 due to the fact that I ran out of time on the reading section and as a result, got a HORRENDOUS score.
I took the October ACT and am hoping to score better in Reading.

My GPA is an unweighted 3.7 and a weighted 4.46?

I rank #23 out of a class of approximately 472 (I can't quite remember, but I know I'm in the top 5%)

I have taken a strictly AP/Honors courseload. I have taken 8 AP exams from Freshman to Junior year.

I worked quite hard on my essay, which spoke of my family background and how moving to the U.S. has shaped who I am today.

Finally, I am in 4 honor societies, have won both State and Regional awards in Science Fair in my freshman and junior year, and am in several clubs. I also have over 216 community service hours from a variety of activities (the majority coming from volunteering at camps and at a library.)

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me their opinion on my chances of getting into first and foremost, NYU, as well as Duke and UNC Chapel Hill (as I am trying to determine which one I have the best chance at getting in Early Decision.)

Also, has anyone applied to UF for the priority deadline? Do my stats look good enough to get in?

One last question, my brother attended Rice University, do they give more consideration to family members of those who were previously enrolled?

If anyone can answer any of these questions ASAP I would greatly appreciate it.

I will chance you back if needed.

Thank you sooooooooo much!

Emma
