hi, I cant really find a major that is a cross between the environmental/alternative/new energies, and computer science. I am into both, and cant think of something that is a cross

CS + physics
CS + engineering (probably more easily done as major + minor, or major + elective courses)

buuuuuuuuuuuuuump, which UC offers the best prgms for both of these? and what kind of job position would it be called as?

You may want to consider what type of engineering you would be most interested in for your goals. Much energy research involves electrical power generation, so electrical engineering would apply, but other types of engineering would apply to other aspects (e.g. mechanical, materials, nuclear, etc.).

If your interest is electrical engineering, Berkeley’s EECS major allows the student to choose the desired combination of EE and CS courses for the upper division courses in the major. However, there can still be issues with limited schedule space. Courses offered include EE 134 on solar power generation, and EE 137A-137B on electric power systems.

However, there are other energy-related courses in other departments, like CE 107, MSE 117, MSE 136, ME 146, NE all.

There is also an Energy and Resources Group with courses on other energy related topics:

Of course, there is plenty of need for engineers of all types in energy-related work.
