Help! Dating

well guys are selfish you can say that (i'm a guy). i know two who are exactly like your friend. once their 'tactic' didn't work, they shun the girl. keep grudges against her. pretty silly, i say.

I can solve all your problems with this crappy advice... problem is that nobody knows how to put it in action:
Girls just want to feel unique
They want to feel like they are the only one who can make you laugh
The only one that can make you cry
And above all the only one who can make you love

I try to be nice to girls these days but i just always seem to go back to old ways and screw them over... if you can figure out a way to make her feel unique she'll go out with you but in my opinion its not worth the time or risk..... i just made myself depressed

I concur. Girls are manipulative. Lysistrata, anyone? :p

Honestly, I agree with the same advice everyone else has already given. There were only 30 of us in IB, and all of us were very close. There were barely any "relationships" among IB'ers because it would've been like incest! I kinda liked an IB'er in my chem class, though, and I went a little (not much) out of my way to be friendly to her. Pretty soon, we were going out...it wasn't really something either of us "made happen," it just kind of happened-don't try to force it.

LOL!! that's how it's like at my school too!!

my advice: let her know, but don't spring it on her either. i had no idea at all my guy friend liked me cuz he didn't give any indication (at least i didn't sense any, but maybe i'm stupid). then one day, just out of the blue, he's like i want to marry u, and that scared the crap out of me. after that things were really uncomfortable, and now we're not friends.

LOL he's a funny guy!!

Yeah guys have to be really careful with these things cos girls are tricky. You can't be tooooooo hinty (or you'll freak her out) but you have to show a bit of hint however (or she won't get the idea). It has to be just right. Man, us girls are so weird.

why do you think sociology exists? or 'gender studies' as a major in college? :D

Am I the only one ever who feels as if acting like you don't care about your crush actually works really well?

i don't know. i personally think you'd bomb it, since the other person has no clue you're interested in him/her. but it might work for some./..

snerry i definitely agree with you
i know you're a pimp and i respect you for that
my previous post:

THE REAL ANSWER TO YOUR DILLEMA

Become a PIMP. Act as if you don't care she exists. Maybe I am exagerating here, but what I'm really trying to say is DO NOT BE NICE TO HER. Don't be a toady or sycophant in her presence. You'd just become another boring victim for her to reject. Act as if you're desireable and make other girls like you too so that she'll develop a liking for you. Being nice to her is what every guy would do. The secret is to do the opposite if you really know how to beat the system. Treat girls like dirt and you present yourself as more desireable to them. I don't mean to be cold hearted but these are the true secrets of getting girls to like you.

Actually, it is sad but true that what you wrote works for some situations. Fortunately, for most folks, it is NOT unusual to go from friends to "something more," if the circumstances are right. I have never liked folks who treat anyone with disrespect (nor put folks on pedestals). There is a lot of room between these extremes--that's where most of us live & have our relationships.

The type of relationship you describe is extremely unhealthy (actually downright abusive). Don't think I'd want to be around folks who are into such roles--very restrictive & destructive.

tell her this:

"can i unlock your secret level... go up up left left right left right right down downa nd up!"

um. okay. i'll try that and let you know what happens.
