Help? Deferred transfer.

I am a first year student at a community college. I applied right after the new year after I took fall finals. I didn't take any misc. classes and finished my semester with a 4.0. Today, my admissions status reads: "Your application has undergone an initial review and is currently deferred for further evaluation with the Admissions Committee. A decision may be delayed as we assess the strength of this year's applicant pool."

What would you say my chances are? I'm in-state. My final high school GPA was 3.3 or 3.4. It is better than a no. I was rejected last year for Fall 2011. I really hope I am accepted for Fall 2012.

What are your test scores? If you have less than 60 college credits then they base their decision on your high school performance. I was deferred from the summer semester with a 3.3 and a 24 ACT

Pretty average. 1170. 1690 with Writing. Still within average though. Were you later accepted? I know my college grades are what’s helping me out because I applied around the same time in high school and was flat out rejected. I’m getting a few recommendation letters from some of my college professors and am trying to decide whether or not to take the ACT.

I’m still waiting to hear back! I have to send in my semester grades in a few weeks. I’m OOS and I’m visiting so I’m just going to hand them in person. I have seen people get accepted with the same stats as you and some lower standardized test scores so I wouldn’t worry about retaking the ACT. You should send them an updated resume with any activities/jobs/community service you’re involved in, that should help a little bit. I have a feeling that you will be accepted after the UF decisions come out and people turn down their spots at UCF to commit to UF. I hope you get in  Good luck!!

I lead some study groups at school for one of my classes and that teacher is writing a letter for me. Everyone I’ve asked said not to worry about the ACT because of my college creds. Thank you very much and I hope you get in too!!! Best of luck!
