Help Finding Potential Private Colleges

Hello,

I just finished my second year at SFSU and have around a 3.7 GPA. During most of high school I wasn't serious about academics and earned a 3.1 or so, and a low SAT score of about 1760. I only have a few minor extracurriculars to include on my application, but could get a number of my previous professors to write glowing letters of recommendation. I'm about to attend a local community college for two quarters this coming Fall because I had to get out of SFSU and my previous living situation in San Francisco.

I'm now looking to transfer next Spring to a private school in either California, Oregon, or Washington, but don't have a good idea of what my options are. I'm looking for a school in a rural environment with small class sizes and challenging academics. Ideally this school would be somewhat close to a city with a thriving music scene and have great hiking nearby.

I would appreciate a list of schools that fit the above criteria and wouldn't be too much of a stretch for me to get into.

Thanks a lot.

What’s your financial situation? Can you afford full pay at a private?

Yes, thankfully I can afford full pay at a private though I may have to take out some loans. I’ve heard that some schools offer financial aid to twins and was thinking about transferring with my brother who has been getting a 4.0 at a community college while I was at SFSU.

Santa Clara University, Pepperdine

Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
