I have a peculiar situation. I don't live in California, but I have gone to a California High School for the past three years, so I qualify for an exception so I can get in-state tuition. I was wondering, to make the process go smoother, should I claim myself as a resident on the Statement of Intent to Register?

you can just claim yourself a resident, they will review your info and determine whether you get to pay in-state tuition. if they say you don't get to, tough luck.. but at least if you didn't claim yourself as a resident, then for sure you ain't going to be paying instate. I'd say it doesn't hurt to try.
