Help guide a lost soul

I am very interested in getting accepted to UGA, but I am interested in knowing other options as well. My current stats are very limiting, so please suggest colleges within these boundaries:

My Interests
- academically rigorous
- suburb, urban
- both liberal arts and research university
Academics
- My UGA gpa is 3.42, My weighted GPA is 3.69
- My class rank is 200 out of 500
- Part of the IB program
- Completed 3 AP classes
EC's
- President of a martial arts club 1 yr
- DECA competitor, won regional medal

Imma bump this

How much can you afford? If you can afford out-of-state tuition at a public school (up to $50,000/year), and/or full tuition at a private (up to $60,000 per year) you may have a lot of options.

I would like to pay less than 100,000 for my entire college tuition.

What are your test scores?

Are you instate for GA? If so, do you qualify for HOPE?

When you say that YOU want to pay less than $100k for college, do you mean YOUR PARENTS pay (is that a budget that they’ve given you)? or do you have $100k somewhere?

Alex, $100,000 is $25K per year - about what it would cost at most instate universities, and half of what it would cost at most privates. So other than your instate options, you need to be shooting for privates schools where your stats are high enough (in comparison to other incoming freshmen) to qualify you for merit aid.

About the ‘academically rigorous’ part - most schools will be as rigorous as YOU make them. Don’t necessarily be put off by ranking or prestige.

Do your parents have a high EFC or will you need 100% financial need met?
What’s in-state for you?
You’d qualify for aid at (from most to least selective for your stats) Goucher, Rollins, Butler, Gustavus Adolphus, Whittier, Doane, Centenary Louisiana; Hendrix and Rhodes for reaches.
In state, Georgia College would be another good match for your stats. Agnes Scott too, and they match the HOPE scholarship ( so private education at a public price!)
Harriet Wilkes Honors College (automatic scholarships & recognize IB, as most schools in FL do.)

I’m not sure about my family’s EFC, i have never filed fasfa before. Those sound like really great options, that I haven’t seen before. Thank you!

Start running net price calculators on college web sites with your parents to get an idea of what can and cannot be afforded.

$5,000 automatic IB scholarships at Westminster College in Mesa (AZ). New, second campus for old college (that’s where Churchill made his famous “iron curtain” speech). Nice city, cool weather, international curriculum. More scholarships depending on grades and test scores, plus need-based financial aid possible.
