HELP!I have the classes, but won't receive my AA diploma summer! Will I be dropped?

Hello Everyone,

As the title says, I was accepted under these conditions:

University Conditions of Admission: 1) Satisfy the required academic milestones (courses and/or GPA) for your intended major. 2) Completion of the AA degree. An official transcript reflecting this degree must be received in the Office of Admissions before you enroll. Your admission is subject to cancellation if you do not meet these conditions.

I have satisfied the requirements, and passed my last online class needed (Math class) with an A this summer. My problem is that due to a medical emergency, that lasted over two months I could not go register for graduation in my town where my CC is, and they could not do it online.

They can only register me for Fall 2013 graduation, but I have everything else to transfer:

I have this:
Junior/Senior-Level Applicants

Junior and senior applicants (60 or more semester hours of transferable credit as determined by the Office of Admissions) must:

Have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative grade point average (GPA) on all college work attempted.
Have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) on all college work attempted at the last institution.

and I have this: College Level Proficiency Skills in Reading, Writing, and Mathematics

They say my transcript will show that I have completed all the courses and that I am ready for graduation (I have nothing else to take at my CC)

Despite the medical issues, I did great in the class and got an A, and I have basically moved all my life to Tallahassee.

Am I doomed? I have everything else to transfer, and I have everything to get my AA, only I could not go register for graduation this Summer.

Please let me know if there is any hope...

I already had my orientation at FSU, I moved my life to Tally, found a job, a place where I paid rent, I registered for classes, bought my books...

Is there someone I should talk to? like a Dean or something?

Thank you all!!!!

Contact a transfer admissions office at your new school. I expect they will be lenient.

Contact the office of admissions ASAP.

Technically, if your admittance was dependent upon having your AA, and you don’t have it, you can basically be kicked out. Will it happen? Not necessarily. I would doubt it would matter if you still have all the classes (this isn’t like a grad school acceptance, where you absolutely MUST have the degree before you are admitted).

Keep in mind that those requirements you list are not all you need to guarantee acceptance. Just because you have them does not mean you get accepted.

Thank you all!

I’m in Tallahassee, do you recommend me going in person to talk to someone? or through the phone?

Also, talked to my CC and they have told me they can write an official letter to FSU saying that I’ve “registered for graduation and that you have taken all classes required to be awarded the degree.”

What do you guys think? I’ll contact the FSU transfer admissions office immediately.

If possible, always go in person.

Thank you, that’s what I thought too.

I been trying to look online, and on my fsu map…I’m not trying to be lazy but does anyone know where is admissions located? Or the name of the building or something?

Thank you all!

It should be located in University Center A. I don’t know the specific room, but there’s a sign that tells you when you enter that building.

That’s the football stadium, the entrance that sort of faces Wildwood Hall/the Circus.
