Hello everyone,

I'm an International student spending some months in New York. I sent my IDOC package on Feb. 23rd and yesterday I got it again. The envelope was closed, so they didn't even get it! The address is correct, I don't know what happened. Should I try to send it again even if the deadline passed? Does it affect my chances of getting financial aid (if I got in) ?

@AlmaIlaria: I truly understand how it would be feeling after compiling that IDOC packet for so long and ultimately having it sent back to you! But, please relax and take a deep breath. You should call the Harvard College Financial Aid Office and the CollegeBoard to report the situation. The people at Harvard are a humble lot and they will most definitely understand your situation.

Meanwhile, you should resend the packet to the allotted address using the fastest mail service possible. Don’t waste precious time; send the packet asap.

The worst case scenario, if at all it happens, would be that you get in and do not receive a financial aid decision along with your acceptance letter. This is what the lady at the Harvard College Financial Aid Office told me a few days back (My IDOC packet was locked in customs for over a week!)

Just relax and act fast, and you will surely be fine!

which number should I call to contact collegeboard?

just google collegeboard and the contact number is there. They’ll be able to direct you

@AlmaIlaria: The IDOC people must have sent you an email back in early February. Lower down in that email, you can find the IDOC contact number that you are looking for.
