Crap! I haven't sent my IDOC out!

Because my parents were out of town, I was not able to send my IDOC packet out until today. I sent it through priority mail, but is it too late?

I had assumed that we had until April 1, but if decision are being released earlier, does that mean an automatic rejection for me?

You are too late to receive any aid, and the College board officials will laugh maniacally while ripping your cover sheet and tax documents into shreds.

Just kidding.

Your colleges will offer aid, but it will (obviously) not come with your admissions decision - assuming you will be admitted. Hopefully you will be able to receive it by Admit weekend, and I am sure you will be able to receive it by the end of the month, but because you sent it in so late, don’t be surprised you don’t receive aid amounts until after May 1 (which kind of sucks because you can’t compare offers). But that will be the worst case scenario, so don’t worry about i.t

OMG you scared the helll out of me with that first line, lol.

So my admissions decision is not affected by whether they have my aid packet or not?

nope absolutely not. the financial aid and admissions department operate separately. except when the admissions office requests the aid info of people they have already accepted.

*** is IDOC? great, I forgot something. argh

^ it’s the branch of collegeboard that u send ur taxes and W-2s to for certain school’s…
U should get started on it if you even want a shot at seeing the fin. aid before May 1

HEY!
I just mailed mine out today too! :)

crap! should probably do that… good grief. I suck at all this fin aid mumbo jumbo.

what’s the link guys?

I already sent in my FAFSA.

Ah I’m so lost, I never heard of it before.

Help…please?

Type this into your browser it will redirect you to their website:

idoc.collegeboard.com

How do you get a sign in?

lol. everyone’s panic makes me realize that those hours scrolling through “Applying to College: Step by Step” websites paid off ^.^

Seriously though, it shouldn’t be too late. Call the admissions office if you’re that worried.

^^ did u apply for the CSS PROFILE?
They give your an ID # that let’s you sign in

…no?

All I did was FAFSA
but I def. need this in cuz I can get a free ride if I get in to Stanford (income is 23K)

should I just wait and see If I even get in? (I doubt I will)

or would that be bad?

And all my other schools I applied to were UCs/CSUs…they don’t need this, right?

Damn I messed up. Thought I had everything under control.

^ well ur profile needed to be done by Feb. 15 for RD
and ur IDOC stuff needs to be in by April 1 for RD, so I would either wait for decisions to come out or call Stanford early on Monday, but if u do get in I am 100% sure u will get aid

^Damn. I’ll just wait then. I HIGHLY doubt I’ll get in anyways so I suppose it’s okay that I didn’t do it. Stats: 4.36 GPA SAT:1990

But thank you very much for all of your help!

^ no problem
don’t doubt u got in
I got in SCEA with a 4.3 GPA and ** low ** SATs

Yeah I guess we’ll just see. If I get in I’ll call and start begging them. =)

I did send them my FAFSA, will that do anything?

wait — you didn’t do the CSS? that was due in like mid February :O

Well I think that just shows them that u need aid
but when u send in ur taxes and stuff to IDOC, IDOC sends them scans of all of those things so they can compare ur FAFSA with ur taxes, which gives u ur aid
