Hey everyone I need some advice
a buddy of mine from our hs football team just got offered by Princeton. I’m happy for him, but I’m a little worried for him, cause I think princeton(or the Ivy League) isn’t right for him
His stats are:
3.1 unweighted gpa
19 ACT score
Yeah I know these are very low stats…even for an ivy athlete!
Anyway what do you think? Will he make it at Princeton? He wants to go to med school in the future.
Should he go ivy or not?
Is your friend’s name Steve, or is that you? Because I am honestly questioning the validity of this post.
That’s me. I am serious about this. This is why I’m so concerned…
What do you mean your friend “got offered” by Princeton? Do you mean he is being recruited? Or did he get an actual acceptance? To be accepted he must have 2 SAT II subject tests and his AI must be at least 176. If you don’t know about the academic index there are lots of articles online that describe what it is and how it works. Essentially it sets a minimum bar so that the Ivy schools cannot recruit athletes who don’t meet a certain minimum. The AI also varies from Ivy to Ivy - Princeton’s overall acceptable AI is considerably higher than 176 although admittedly the football program might accept a very, very highly ranked recruit who falls near that number.
