Help I'm split between ASU and UA

Ok so I'm really torn between the two colleges

ASU is in a great location, lots to do, still has good academics

UA has a better reputation but isn't in a great area and there aren't TONS to do.

I need informative advice. I need to figure out where I wanna go. Right now I'm leaning towards ASU

ASU has a worse reputation than UA? I didn't know that (though I don't live in Arizona).

ASU has the highest percentage of students with STDs in the nation, so go to UA

go to ASU

!!

I'd pick ASU. But that is just me. UA ain't bad either.

U of A if you want to do some academics, ASU if all you want to do is party

As someone who just started the college search process, I have heard a tremendous amount about ASU as a "party school". This may or may not be true, but it seems to be a rather pervasive attitude (at least up here in Alaska and on the web in general), so it might impact future possibilities. Then again, it might not. You didn't say what you're thinking of majoring in, but my research indicates significantly stronger applied sciences programs at UA.

I've visited the UA campus in Tuscon (on my own, not as part of a tour) and loved the location. But you may want something totally different.

It really ends up depending on your personal preferences regarding both future careers and hobbies/fun. If you really didn't like the look of Tuscon, maybe you shouldn't go to school there.

They're both party schools. I'd rank them as:

ASU Honors
U of A Honors
U of A
ASU

Keep in mind that ASU honors is exceptionally good, and the rest are average at best.

ASU honors is fantastic, but non-honors is nothing special. Honors aside, UA is a much more respected school, because while the students no doubt have an interest in their social life, they want an education too.

Both are facing a changing climate with the current economic situation. ASU is laying off a couple hundred people in various capacities and Uof A has endangered research funding.

I was torn between U of A and NAU. I really don't like ASU. I say, go to NAU! I just accepted my offer of admission to NAU under a week ago. Haha!

ASU has the worst party reputation. I live in state and I've visted ASU, U of A, and NAU. I didn't like ASU's campus at all. It all seemed dirty to me. U of A was so much nicer. NAU is completely different because not only is it a lot smaller, but it also has a different climate. It actually snows during the winter in NAU!

I chose NAU because I'm an undecided major and I loved the feel of the campus. The inside of the buildings are much nicer than the outside. I'm an AP/honors student too, if that makes any difference.

This UA graduate (and former Tucson resident) had a GREAT time there; Tucson is a way better city than Phoenix in many ways (though getting bigger and sprawlier all the time). There's a lot of charm to Tucson is you know where to look and NO shortage of parties, believe me! Sports, music, clubs....and easier to get around in than Phoenix. Go Wildcats!

Tucson isn't a major metropolitan area, but if you can't find plenty to do at UA/in Tucson, you aren't looking hard enough.
