So my flights got cancelled and delayed all day today and now I'm back at home. I have an early flight for tomorrow so if it leaves on time I should get to campus by 11:30- more realistically though I should be there by one. Do you think I should reschedule my orientation or should I go and make the best of it. It would be really helpful to hear from someone what you do the first half of day 1. I really want to go but not if I'm missing too much!

Go today , most Orientation spots are booked.

If you happen to read this before you leave...

if you can find a relevant phone number, call and make sure they know you're coming late so they don't scratch you off as a no-show.

Well, to be honest, you don't really miss anything on the first day except for a walking tour + a couple of presentations. But I would defintely contact UMich somehow to let them know of your problem.

The only days that are really important are the 2nd and 3rd days for when you have to go to your academic advisor / learn how to create a schedule / etc.
