HELP! May 7 and June 4: SAT Vs. Subj SAT

Okay so I'm a junior and I only have these two dates left to take. My highest on the SAT is 2160 and I still feel I can raise this higher. I've taken Math II once but want to take it again bc I didn't do so well the first time. This time however, I will be taking 2-3 subject tests; Math II, Chemistry, Biology.

May 7 is the Saturday before my final exam week.

June 4 is well into my summer break and I will have a month to practice.

If you were in my position, which would you take when?

I would take the SAT subject tests in may, while they are fresh from school, and then the SAT in june. Any extra studying you do for school finals should translate over to your SAT subjects, and then you can use the extra month off to take practice SAT exams  good luck!

I’ve heard of that too, but I’ve also heard that the subj. tests are significantly different than normal AP testing so what you learn from school may not benefit you as much.

For example, I’m taking chemistry in a college level course, but I’ve heard chemistry is far more theoretical than applying equations like what we usually do.

I disagree. Though the tests are different, the information is still the same.

Was your Math II really that bad?

I got into plenty of awesome schools with 600something on the Math II.

It was comparatively bad to what I know I could’ve done… Something quite unfortunate happened midway through the test.

Are people allowed to wear earplugs in a test? I just got assigned to a testing location that I have never been before.
