Help me out.. Chances?

<p>Just wondering if anyone can offer your opinions on whether or not I'll be accepted.</p>

<p>Male, white, out of state student at a public high school
prospective major: poli sci
3.2 GPA weighted, 2.9 unweighted
Lower part of the class (Very competitive!)
6 AP classes total, 2 additional honors courses
1730/2400 sat
1140/1600 sat</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
AIDS benefit fashion show: junior, senior
play: senior
climbing team: sophomore, junior, senior
debate group: junior, senior
varsity lacrosse: junior, senior
peer education: junior
founder, students for Barack Obama at my hs: senior</p>

<p>Employment:
cashier at candy store: three summers
busser/host at restaurant: 12/07-present
intern/file clerk at law firm: 09/08-present</p>

<p>Volunteer:
Barack Obama campaign: 09/08-11/08: phone bank director for election day for my precinct, founder: students for Barack Obama at my high school, phone banking, canvassing during campaign</p>

<p>English as a Second Language: 11/08-present: mentor for young Hispanic kids, expanding their spanish skills</p>

<p>Just about any out of state student who can afford the tuition without financial aid will be accepted these days. UVM is well known for needing the oos tuition and accepts these students rather than in-state applicants. UVM is a great place to live and learn, and the Burlington area has a great lifestyle.</p>

<p>you are there with the numbers, but this year is pretty competitive. You have a shot, but you aren't a shoe-in. </p>

<p>ps- I also did alot of the same work for the Obama campaign here in Fl. YES WE DID!</p>

<p>I heard it was pretty competitive this year. The only thing that is worrying my is my gpa; I had a terrible year last year, and hope that it will not deter them from admitting me. I figure that my extracurriculars make up for my gpa a bit, and my major (a lot of poli sci majors.)</p>
