I need to host some fundraisers this semester, and I have no clue what I should do. It's especially hard because I can't say what the fundraiser is for since my school doesn't allow Greek life and it's for a sorority that I'm trying to join.

Is the fundraiser for the sorority itself, or is it for the sorority’s philanthropy?

A few ideas: A top-chef type barbecue, where people vote for their favorite grill by putting dollars in the box for that team? A special night at a popular nightspot where you get a share of the cover in exchange for promoting the evening?

It’s for me, as an official interest of the sorority to help me pay for the orientation fees. Once other girls join the interest group, the money will be split evenly among us. (Although if I do the fundraisers on my own, before other girls join the interest group, whatever I raise might be just mine, I’m not sure).

I could conceivably do something like that. Or maybe a pasta dinner that I invite my friends and some of the sorority sisters to…pasta and sauce at Wegmans is super cheap (pasta is $0.89/box and sauce is $0.90/bottle)…and each box of pasta has 8 servings…

Holding fundraisers is a requirement for interests. I could easily get the money I need for the fees, but unless I do fundraisers I can’t pledge.

I decided to drop out. I was still the only interest, and I’m extremely busy with classes and clubs, so I just didn’t have time for all the sorority requirements.
