HELP needed:btw, happy thanksgiving

Hey guys, I have the last chance to raise my ACT score in december.
I have whole week of thanksgivin break off. So I was trying to do bunch of practice tests.
However, after finishing my red book and princetone review, I could not find good practice tests.
Other than red book and princeton review, can anyone recommend practice tests for ACT.
I have Barrons, but it seems ridiculously hard.
ANY help would be appreciated.

Barrons is truly awful. Have you checked with your school's guidance office? Mine usually has at least one ACT practice booklet on hand.

oh crap,, yes I should have checked that.
But it seems I will not be able to go to college counseling office until one week from now on, since we have one week off...

bump bump!!

I disagree with fearless10 as do many others on CC. Barron's is definately more difficult than the real test itself; however, it does over the essential parts of the test. It just overprepares you, which I think is better for timing issues. So get Barron's. It actually raised my ACT to a 31 from a 28 in a week....Also, Kaplan and Peterson are not as good as the top(Red, Princeton, and Barron's) but they have tests similar to the real act format. The one you shouldn't buy is McGraw Hills. It's very poor in accuracy and details.
In short, defintely do Barron's and, if you have time, kaplan and maybe peterson.

Barrons reviews in Math and English helped me raise my 31 (28E, 30M, 36R, 31S) to a 34 (34E, 35M, 34R, 33S). Barrons + Red Book for practice tests = victory.

So I am seeing everybody recommending Barrons.
Should I go for it? it seemed too hard to me....

i have the 2007 edition of barrons, is that good enough or is 2008 the better one?

I also disagree: Barron's was great for math & science, particularly since the real Science section can be difficult. Barron's '08 & '09 have the same sample tests -- dunno about '07.

BUT, start with the Official ACT red book,

yea, but i already did red book... I guess I would go for Barrons..

I guess I'm in the minority, then, but I felt like Barrons only confused me more... I got a 34 in June, but had consistently gotten 29s and 30s on Barrons practice tests, with like 25s on Barrons reading... It was kind of demoralizing, and yet I got another 34 in November.

so... it helps??

Metlife,
what Fearless10 is saying is that Barrons is super hard. I agree with that. I got like a 600 on a barrons practice SAT II math II and a 780 on the real thing.
Bottom line-
If you dominate barrons, you will dominate the real thing.

good luck

ACT has a released practice test on their website.

I think Kaplan was very helpful. My kaplan scores were just slightly lower than my real ACT score.
I have never tried Barron's so can't comment on that.
I don't recommend Peterson's. I got a 17 on their English practice test, and 33 on the real one. That's a pretty big difference...
