Help on College Decision (NY Public Schools)!!

I've narrowed it down to two colleges: Hunter and SUNY Albany, but I'm not sure what to go with. At the moment, I'm interested in journalism, and I know Hunter doesn't even have a journalism major, but I haven't heard much about SUNY Albany's journalism program. It'd cost me more to go there, but is the program worth that extra money? I've considered just going to Hunter and taking up an English major to try to improve my writing. If I'm still interested in journalism, I'll then start working on that (which would be difficult).

I'm kinda bummed out that I had to choose between these two. I got accepted into a few other schools (Hofstra, which I heard is good for journalism; Ithaca, which I heard had a good communications department), but the cost is WAY too high.

Anyway, please reply! The deadline to inform schools is in a few days!

Thanks!

LOL…anyone?

I’ve heard that Hunter has a pretty good English department, one of my friends goes there and he’s an English major and enjoys it. But be aware that it is very much a commuter school, so there isn’t much school spirit or cohesiveness.

i love hunter. i would be going there had it not been for NYU.

Stick with Hunter. The Upper East Side location should help you nab some internship opportunities, and you can work your way up from there.
