Help on transferring.

Hey I would like some help if it's possible on transferring to Tulane. I applied to Tulane for the fall 2010 semester and I was rejected. I'm kind of new to the website and just wanted to see if anyone had any type of tips or could help me in some way which I would greatly appreciate. I really fell in love with the school when I saw it and I'm trying to make it happen. I don't want to sound conceited or overconfident but this is what I want and I will make it happen. I'm pretty stubborn in my ways but I just can't settle for anything less than what I want. ( I don't mean to sound like a jerk but I just want it more than anything.) To get to know me better I should put up some stats of me. I don't really know how to do this so if I get it wrong please correct it.

First year CC student with a 3.3 gpa and 33 credits.
high school average was an 80. (It is what it is. I'm not making excuses about it. It should have been higher.)
I have many ec's but I don't think it's a big deal when transferring to Tulane. They never asked for it or maybe I missed it.
SAT scores were waived because I had 30 credits.
I did wait until the deadline to finish my application because I was waiting for the 30 credits so I didn't have to send my SAT scores. Maybe that hindered my chances.
Hispanic male from NYC (If that even matters.)

The grades aren't spectacular by any means and I'm trying right what I did wrong in high school. I didn't apply out of high school because of my low grades and kind of low SAT score(1600). Did applying out of a CC hurt my chances? If so I should be applying from St. John's University or Marist College in the fall I haven't made a descision yet. Can I and should I apply for spring 2011 admission since I'm taking a summer course?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks again.
