Hi!

Well, I'll take 3 subject tests in October.. I haven't purchased any books yet, do you have any recommendations for me? I have no clue what books are the best to prepare..

My 3 subjects are:
-Math II
-World History
-German

I hope you can help out, I really need help!

Thanks, Steven

Math II - PR or Barrons depending on your confidence
World History - Barrons (btw you can't this in October)
German - ?

I say Barron's for Math II.

The test this time looked A LOT like the Barron's test.

World History is only offered in December and June. For World History if you're taking AP World, get the AP World Barrons prep book. If you're not taking AP World, just get Barrons SATII prep book.

For Math2 I'd say PR or Barrons.

German no idea.

Besides world history only being offered in December and June,

German is only in November and June. November is listening, and June is without listening.

For world history though, I agree that Barrons AP world is very helpful.

Are there even any German SAT II books out there? Never seen one.

Math Lvl. II-Barrons

Sorry--can't help you with the others from experience.

alright one thing. for world history, get BARRON'S SAT2 WORLD HISTORY
it helped me raise my score by more than 200 points in a week's preparation

World history: Barron's; However, this is a book that's NOT crammable... It has alot of complicated stuff that may require rereading. In the book, it really doesn't describe how to study. For the SAT, you need to get the big picture AND tiny details. Also, i recommend skipping some sections as well in Barron's as well.

Math II: Maybe Barron's but it's a very complicated book.

Math II: Barrons!
Make sure you get concepts down because Math II hard questions don't just really test your memory of forumals, but they test your reasoning ability to figure out the "trick" to solving the problem although some of the hard ones are more logical and do not need extra reasoning.

Ok well, thanks!
So the most people say Barron's for both World History and Math II.. And for the date, well then I'll do it another month, no problemo! And noobody has any idea for German? I don't think it's that popular then, haha.
And for World History, are you guys learning everything or just reading carefully and try to remember the topics? Cause i guess it's a lot to learn.. Well I have the whole summer so that will be fine. And this may seem silly, but here in the Netherlands (where I live) I didn't take 'Math II', but I'm good at math, and with a book.. will there be a major problem, I have the whole summer. Thanks!

If you find Barrons easy, then you are at luck! I didn't think Barrons was that hard at all, and when I took the test, I found it easier than Barrons.

Remember that the tests you're thinking of are not offered during every testing date. Check with collegeboard to see what dates each test are offered.

History is very easy to study for, just a TON of info.

Math II wasn't bad for me, then again math is pretty much my favorite subject.

All you really have to do is not procrastinate and you'll be fine.

Rainbsprinkles - Thanks, is it a good book? How well did it help you prepare for the SAT? And there is nou audio cd with it, but I have to do the Test with the listening section. Hope you can give me some feedback!

Jamesford - Thanks, but if you're reading the book.. You know everything right away or do you really have to block ?! And I heard you get like, 80 multiple choice questions, and you may miss out like, 12 to get a 800? Isn't that too easy?

Thanks!

I haven't taken the test yet, I'll be doing the listening in November. I'm not planning on doing extensive studying for it as I've been taking German since the 4th grade, but if you want to practice the listening part, I know the CB subject test prep book comes with CDs and that you can download practice ones from various websites.

Sorry if I haven;t been helpful...

Ok, do you know a website where I can practice? You are being really helpful, no worries!

I didn't know everything right away from world history. I actually learned a lot from Barrons. The test is actually 95 questions long, and you can get 15 wrong and get 800. But believe me, it's harder than you think unless you have a good AP class.
