That's kind of a weird problem. I don't think I've ever been distracted by the index numbers on the pages of a test booklet, lol. On the other hand, I could barely read "Of Mice and Men" without getting distracted by anything that was remotely more interesting than the terrible story contained in the pages of that crap-fest.

Okay, although you guys have never been "distracted" by such things, aren't page numbers, pictures in textbooks, etc. all within our range of vision when we are reading text? I just don't like seeing them there because they "suck" my attention away from the text...

Should I just ignore them? But how can you ignore them if they are there and will always be there? I'm very distressed and confused.

Pretend that they're not there. Cover them up with a piece of paper.

Just ignore them... They aren't relevant to the story.

Look at the picture once and then move on.

The page numbers aren't that exciting. 2 always comes after 1, blah blah blah.

I've tried to use post-its to do that but I thought.... am I going to do that with a 200 pg book? Then I thought, the yellow post it will distract me. Could this be OCD?

^ Maybe...
Does this happen when you're doing things other than reading?

You're just freakin' INSANE.

^ lol, you're not insane. I get distracted [hmm I've been posting on CC intermittantly for almost 2 hours now, but only because I'm trying to do my summer work on the computer too, and when I run out of ideas, I post ;D] too.

I think I have ADHD:
Whenever my parents tell me to do something, I don't even listen, but I'll just say "yeah" and end up never doing it.

I end up misplacing my keys and wallet everyday. It's probably because when I put them down, I am thinking about some females.

Reading, I can't concentrate like I did when I was little. After I read a page, I start thinking about getting online.

There's like 80 things I need to do today, but I won't end up doing them because I'll be on my computer.

I'm going to be a senior next year, and I was supposed to research college stuff this summer, but uh, I forgot. I didn't really forget, I just put it off.

My summer reading was horrendous this year. I told myself to read a few chapters everyday, but I ended up skimming 100 pages everyday to catch up on my deadlines.

When I read, after I finish each page, I look at the page number and it makes the reading so tedious, so I skip paragraphs.

I started highlighting my summer reading books, but then I realized how it would just hinder the pace at which I finish the book.

How do I cure this??

Also, the last few school years, I notice it would take me 2 hours to finish a worksheet because I'll end up daydreaming or something.

^ ha, sounds like me, except instead of females it's males. ;)
