Hi I'm a freshmen looking to transfer to UGA. I meet all the requirements but the due date for the application is April 1st and you have to have 30 hours by the deadline. I will have 30 hours at the end of the spring semester which isn't until May 8th. I know of other people that had the same problem and they were still able to transfer and attend UGA at the beginning of their sophomore year. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or ways I could transfer so I can attend UGA in the fall of 2013. I would rather begin there in the fall than transfer in the spring of 2014. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE IF ANYONE COULD HELP ME THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

I’d love to see if there are any responses to this question too. I’m in the same boat as you.
From what I’ve gathered, if you have AP credits that show up on your college transcript, you should be fine. These credits would have to add up with your current first semester credits to meet the 30 hours minimum by April 1. I’m not sure how else you can gain admission since UGA seems to be pretty strict about this rule.

Have you tried to email a transfer admissions counselor?

Im a sophomore at a community college and always thought about transferring to UGA (but cant now considering I will not have the money for it) anyway I WAS in the same boat as you all, and found out that there really is no way to get around it. You have to have 30 credits by application deadline which sucks because they purposely put it on such a day that you have no choice but to apply for the spring. Like ^^ said, if you have any AP’s that may help, other than that you’re out of luck.

I talked with an advisor from UGA about this and he says there is no way this can happen. Transfer students must have the transcripts send by April 1st, no later. He said people who have said otherwise could be Juniors which means a Junior applicant can send an updated transcript by June. Hope this helps!
