HELP! UC Davis/SD Tag Approved however...

I’m mostly concerned about Davis as it is currently my #1 pick.
Also, why wouldn’t the grades during my spring semester be calculated in? I know the decision would already have come in but your saying the grades I get during Spring would not be counted at all? I listed a couple of classes in my TAG for Spring semester, so I would have to take them even though it wouldn’t count toward my grade?

The classes transfer but they don’t count in the GPA they use to offer you admission. However, to keep that offer, you need to maintain a certain gpa so they count that way.

@edch5908: UCD’s TAG program is different than UCSD’s. UCSD isn’t even taking the TAG app into account this year at all; they’re exclusively using the UC app to determine TAG eligibility.

UCD (I believe) requires that you maintain full-time status through the spring.

The reason why your spring grades won’t be calculated into your GPA when deciding whether or not to offer you admission is simply that the decision will already be made before those grades come out. You’ll be receiving your conditional offer of admission around March/April and spring grades won’t be out until June, so there’s no way for them to use those grades to determine your admission decision.

So no, those grades won’t count at all in determining whether or not they admit you. You still need to finish the courses if they’re part of IGETC, or a required pre-req, but that’s about it.

Also, I believe UCD requires that you fulfill the promises of your TAG app in regards to which classes you said you were going to take. There was a way to update that app, but I’m not sure what it was and I believe that date has already passed.

Great, so all I have to do is keep on taking my classes. Maintain my GPA above a 2.8 (UCD) and (3.0) for UCSD to get into the university am I right?

Thanks

That’s correct.

I appreciate the info Grimes99.
and everyone else as well :]

Hello, I am having a similar problem. I have an F in my biology course this semester, and my overall gpa will remain above the required 2.90 gpa for the UC Davis TAG. However, in the UCD TAG it clearly states that I must obtain a C or higher in all the courses currently in progress and courses planned. Could you please clarify this?

Woah waitaminute: Did you get an F in the class just because you forgot to place a works cited in your extra credit assignment?

I’m surprised no one has brought this up. That seems really harsh. Either there’s something I’m not getting, your professor is a complete ******, or there’s more to the story i.e. you were already failing the class, you needed the extra credit.

I mean…seriously?
