I am about to be a senior in highschool and i have been looking at texas tech for majoring in petroleum engineering. My sat score is very low(1500 total but having been studying all summer to take it again), i am borderline top 25%. I see that to get accepted into the engineering college, it is required to meet assured admission requirements. But if you dont you get place into the pre-engineering program. Can some explain to me how it works like can anyone get accepted into it with any score, will you graduate a year late. I just need some insight on this program from someone who knows it well.

Bumpppp???

My recommendation is to email your question(s) re the pre-engineering program to the Tech Admissions staff who would be glad to give you accurate, informed answer(s). I volunteer at high school college nights for Tech and it’s my personal experience that the Admissions staff is very approachable and helpful. Try it out and see what you think. I copied the following from the Tech website re the “chat” hours for answering email questions from prospective students like you. Go to the Admissions section at Tech’s website ttu.edu and find this “chat” section and go from there to submit your questions.
