Help! Urgent Urgent Urgent

I just received my W-2, and I have to file my taxes individually, which I thought that I didn't need to. Since I did my CSS Profile and FAFSA a few weeks ago, I checked that I would NOT file my own taxes, though I did eventually. My EFC will probably not change at all, but now the information on the PROFILE is incorrect! How can I make changes? Or can I even? I think that checking the box that I WOULD NOT file my own taxes skipped a whole section on the CSS for me, so I can't just print it out and correct it. :(

How can I make this change to the CSS profile?!

bump bump bump

Don't worry about it. Just correct your FAFSA when your taxes are done. The colleges will pick up the info from the FAFSA.

Do keep extra copies of your tax returns and W-2's in case the colleges ask for them.

I fixed my FAFSA, but have yet to send the corrected information to all the schools. When do colleges start looking at all your fin-aid forms?

I fixed my FAFSA, and most of my colleges require hard copies of the tax form or the IDOC, which will have my new information on it. I hope this is good enough for them to rectify my incorrect Profile information. Is it? Thanks.

We did the same thing here. DD wasn't going to file. Now she is (too much fed tax withheld this year and she wants it back). So when her taxes are done we'll amend to say "taxes completed". Even on the Estimated FAFSA she submitted, she still had to report her income and such even though she wasn't going to file. The status is the only thing that is changing. Even if you indicated "will not file" you still have to report the income.

I estimated my income on the CSS, but did not put that I was filing my own taxes.

BTW, How long does it take for FAFSA to send you the SAR after you correct the form?
