LOL I can’t believe I am gonna visit a college soon I going to make the most out of my visits!
@Upenngirl98 TCNJ Bio is a great program and has excellent acceptance rates for Med School. I know cost is a factor but the difference in costs will look very small between Rowan and TCNJ once you become a doctor
With Rowan if you are a top performer you may have an advantage getting into their med school
@dudefromnowhere Yeah I really like TCNJ’s Bio program lol but then again Rowan has its own medical school and hospital now…
But I think after visiting each school I can have some more background before deciding.
Heads up - Rowan is on spring break now, so the campus will be empty when you visit. You might want to reschedule. The kids are out until 3/20 (next Sunday) which is when there is an accepted students reception.
LOL that’s weird they actually have an accepted students day this week- which is why I am going. But I will go again most likely
Just rejected from Northeastern (my first rejection lol) idk even though I wasn’t completely interested in the school I still feel sad idk I had good scores and extra activities idgi
Sorry… but you have great acceptances already and anyway NEU wouldn’t have offered sufficient FA, so, no regrets.
Yeah I guess!! THANKS!
Sorry about the rejection! Please post back how it goes at Rowan. It seems like a great option, especially for the cost.
I got into Temple (just forgot to update yikes)! I got a 24k scholarship and admitted into the Honors Program with one $4000 stipend! I had a 32 super scored and for full tuition I needed a 32 in one sitting…oh well Nevertheless, I am still happy
So the final cost comes down to 17k if I were to go. Also the 24k includes fafsa cause I got the Provost scholarship and the remaining money comes from fafsa loans (which wasn’t a lot sadly lol).
Congratulations! Temple is another awesome choice, and the Honors College there is terrific.
@MYOS1634 Thank you so much! :x
Did you go to Rowan yet, and if so what did you think?
@NJRoadie Nope! I am scheduled for this Saturday!
ANnnnd REJECTED FROM JOHNS HOPKINS.
@Upenngirl98 Try to focus on the schools which do want what you have to offer:) You have some really good options and great programs at schools who clearly value you!
Thanks! It just sucks cause I put so much effort into the application to get nothing but a short ‘thank you for applying’ letter! Well that was the last college decision so the colleges I have to decide between are;
-TCNJ
-Rowan
-Temple
-Rutgers
Can you list
- your major or fields of interest
- post-college goals as of now
- if you got Honors at any/all of them? (I think you did but a nice recap with the perks ie. “Honors + full tuition + Stipend for research” would help people who don’t want to scroll through the past six pages. :p)
- personal preferences (ie., small/large, close to…/far from…, must have…)
I’m sorry about JHU. Still you got 4 good choices.
Well I want to go under Pre-Med and become a physician. I got accepted as a Biology Major to all four schools.
I got into Rutgers and Temple Honors through direct admission. But TCNJ and Rowan have an application process so I am going to find out about Honors in April. (I was invited to apply to TCNJ and Rowan Honors).
Also I prefer a smaller school with more one on one interaction, so presumably TCNJ or Rowan, so that I am prepared for med school. So I am debating between TCNJ Bio and Rowan Bio LOL
For a smaller college with better interaction between professors and students, a closer knit community, etc, I’d go with TCNJ Honors if you’re admitted (I hope you are, I think your odds are good!). Temple would be nice, too - while it’s a bigger university, the campus is rather compact and the Honors College is top-notch. Rutgers’ Honors Program is also excellent but the campus may not be as much to your liking (wih the buses etc), the classes are larger. Rowan Bio even with Honors, I’m not sure about, no +/- I can think of.
