Help with ACT Writing section

So I am taking the act this weekend, and the main reason I am taking it is for the writing section

On my last(and best) act I got a 34 composite but only a 6 on the writing(two 3's)

For the past week or 2 I have been looking around and reading about the writing section. Now I have never been a great writer(my forte has always been math) and I generally can't come up with nice 'flow' for a essay easily, or even nice sounding sentences, but I have always gotten a 4 or a 5(the highest 2 scores) on the state standardized writing test, which is why I was surprised by my low score for the act writing.

Anyone have some good tips and tricks for the writing section. I think that where I lost the most points was the counterarguments because I dont think I included them, but any other tips would be welcome.

Your score on the writing section is very closely correlated to how much you write. If you have had experience with “AP” style writing, you should be fine. Just try to write a lot more, and don’t worry as much about the quality (a little less quality and a lot more writing will help you out more than a little more quality and a lot less writing).
