Help with decision: PSU vs U of M

Well, my acceptance kind of complicates some things for me, and I'll be looking for input from various places, CC included obviously.

Basically here's the simple rundown of me:
-PA resident
-Planned engineering major
-asian

PSU
Pros:
-good reputation of getting work through alumni system
-reputable engineering program
-instate cost

Cons:
-huge population (imo)
-big party school
-apparently not much to do in surrounding "city"
-less diverse

U of M
Pros:
-good reputation of finding work post-grad
-supposedly "better" engineering program
-top choice school
-pretty diverse

Cons:
-expensive as an OSS

The main deciding issue for me is cost. So basically, what I am asking is do the monetary cost for Michigan pay for both the education and a better college experience than at PSU (expecting some bias, so don't worry I'll probably filter most of it out)? Oh and are there anyways to earn scholarships during school for the following year?

And if you could, post what classes and life are like at U of M; it would be pretty helpful.

Much thanks in advance.

Michigan is definitely better in engineering, and is a more well-rounded school, but whether or not it's worth paying 30K a year for tuition alone is up to you and your parents.

why is the fact that it is a big party school a con? if you arent into partying just avoid the scene..

a lot of my friends are from PA and went on to psu.

i'd say half of them enjoy it and the other half hated it and transferred.
the half that enjoyed it seemed to really love the party scene, while the other half was focused more on academics and getting top jobs.

also, you're gonna know SO many people at penn state. i'm from NJ and transferred from rutgers and it's been a life-changing experiencing coming here, despite the greater amount of costs.

Michigan would be a much better fit for you.

Forgiven, are you still planning to transfer from mich?
