So today I asked a teacher if he would write me a letter of rec. for college. I had everything planned out what I was going to say, and instead I came across as completely socially inept and didn't really get my point across about the recs. I always have this problem with him, I don't know why.

Anyway, I think I confused him. He asked if I needed a school-specific one or a general one so I said all my schools were on the common app. so could he just write a general one. Then I asked him if he preferred online or paper, and he said he usually just types one up. I told him that the common app has a specific form that I would "invite" him to fill out, and he said he generally doesn't like those forms and said he would just type one.

So I guess my question is, should I email him saying that there is a specific form that he has to do? I want to do what's easiest for him, but I'm not sure exactly what to say because I screw up everything up when I talk to him because I'm always so nervous.
