I currently attend the University of North Texas, but plan on transferring to UT Austin for next fall semester. The only thing on my application stopping me is the transfer statement of purpose. I have little to no idea how to write this.

My reasons for wanting to go to UT are:
The research opportunities. My sister attends UT and has found a lot of undergraduate research opportunities. I want to get a bachelor's of science in Psychology (maybe Biology) and go to graduate school to study neurological and cognitive processes for anxiety disorders ( I have one), so the research experience and professionalism provided there would help. I enjoy hands on approaches rather than staring at results made by someone else in a textbook, and the research departments there seem like they would be perfect for me.

UT is more challenging academically. I did not have to work hard to maintain a 4.0 last semester, even with the transition to a college lifestyle. I want to learn more and challenge myself, not simply coast through to a degree that means little if I obtained no knowledge in the process.

The atmosphere seems both socially and intellectually stimulating. I do enjoy going out from time to time and the school spirit, but UNT seems focused more on school spirit than actual academics. I want be at a large school, but one that focuses just as much if not more so on the learning rather than being social

Austin is my hometown. I know the city and I know the campus and Austin is a place full of opportunities in Music (been playing various instruments for years), art, and science. I know the hometown thing doesn't sound great to admissions readers, but I feel it would give me an advantage in excelling there and going on to grad school.

What I'd like to know is:

How much does the transfer essay really matter?
and
How are you supposed to go about writing this? I don't have any hardship stories or interesting quotes. I just have a clear vision of what I want to do with my life and know UT could help me achieve my goals.

Sorry for the wall of text and thank you so much for the feedback.
