Hey guys I need some opinion from people about what i should do. I am stuck in a dilemma.. I am currently attending UCI 3rd year as a social ecology major. However, I applied to CSUCI (Cal State University Channel Islands) (where i can live at home) as a business major because thats what i see myself doing and got accepted. At UCI i only have at most 3-4 quarters to go. But the thing is I was dumb in choosing social ecology as a major and i feel that isnt the right path for me. Is it worth it to waste all that time at UCI (ive been there 5 quarters already) and transfers to CSUCI to attain my business major there? I feel that UCI is a more accredited college. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks for the help

Can you transfer to UCI business major? I did not know that Cal State has one at UCI, is that what CSUCI ? if not what is it?

oh sorry i forgot to mention UCI does not have a business major yet. and CSUCI is cal state university channel islands

I think UCI have business major this year. I know someone who applied there for freshman and got rejected.

yeah they have a business economics and upcoming business administration (2010). however business economics is really theory based and that is not appealing.

I don't know anything about CSUCI, I've heard that CSUF has a good business program.

CSUCI is the newest CSU campus...it is at the old mental hospital in Camarillo.
Honestly, I wouldn't transfer just to do an undergrad business major...IMO, CSUCI would be a big step down from UCI. I would change majors and stay at UCI...perhaps economics? Work for a couple years and get an MBA.

Also, isn't CSUCI on semesters? It seems like it would be a big hassle for transfer credits from UCI and I bet you'd have to take a lot of business prerequisites at CSUCI anyway...

Bottom line: Transferring is not worth it...stay at UCI.

thanks for the input

anyone else have any input

I would stay at UCI for two reasons. One, better school with established reputation. Two, in transferring and switching majors you might lose credits and need more time to complete college. You can get a business job without an undergraduate business degree. A major in social ecology from UCI would make for an interesting job interview. I assume you have taken math and economics already? Maybe you can take some of the new business management courses at UCI your senior year even if it cannot be your official major. If you hate, hate social ecology and do not want to finish the major out, then I would find a related field where some of your current classes would fit major requirements and switch majors at UCI.

that makes sense thank you
