Help

I am looking for a college with a college that’s has good academics, good sport teams, pretty campus, and is public. I know this is a lot and is very opinion based, but would like to hear any ideas on what people have to say on colleges that are well rounded like this. Thank you! Any help or opinions are welcomed!

Also, has a solid business school

Size, location, budget, your stats?

Why must it be public? If it’s a cost issue, out of state publics can be very pricey.

Hundreds of colleges fit that description! You will have to be more specific.

For such general criteria I’d suggest you get your hands on some good college guide books such as Fiske, Princeton Review, Insiders Guide and start reading up on some of the different options (you can seek them out in your guidance office or library). Be sure to consider finances and if a school is a match for your academic stats.

Why not start with your home state-- it’s likely to be your cheapest option.

Where do you live?

i live in georgia

im just having trouble trying to figure out the certain vibe of a college. Visits make everything seem glamorous, but I wanna know what it’s actually like.

I have a 4.1, 29 ACT. Im looking for a school where people are passionate about getting good grades, but also wanna have fun.

I prefer larger schools, which in general is public. However, if you could think of a private school that meets this criteria I would take a look for sure.

Size- Large, medium is okay as well
location- Northeast, southeast, midwest, mid atlantic
stats- 4.1, large upward trend, 29 ACT, 8 AP’s

I feel like a good example would be something like University of Wisconsin

What’s your budget? The College Board has a search that allows you to input different parameters. There are probably others. You can run the Net Price Calculator on any school that seems interesting and rule out unaffordable schools to shorten your application list.

When you go on college visits, ask to sit in on classes, and then dont be shy about stopping students in dining halls to ask questions. You are more likely to get an honest answer from students who aren’t working for admissions.

Indiana U is supposed to have a great business school. Purdue and Ohio State come to mind too but for an out of state applicatant, you may want to take the ACT again.

If you are in Georgia, Tech has a great business school. The only problem is that the culture is somewhat cutthroat. UGA has a solid business school from what I’ve heard. Plus, with Zell, it’s cheap, a great environment and academics (they have an honors college too), and people are super passionate. Plus, it crushes SEC football as well as other sports. I applied to both Tech and UGA, and though I’m not going to either, I can vouch for them being pretty awesome from witness testimonies.

You should look at your State Flagship. It will be your most cost effective option.

I’m probably just going to tell you what others are going to tell you but you should seriously look into the University of Georgia with it’s Terry College of Business and Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business as a reach. If your looking for an OOS, Indiana definitely seems to fit the bill. I live in the state and everyone seems to make that their goal if that want to go into business.

I think it would be worth your time to check out The University of Wisconsin-Madison. The student body is smart, down to earth, and yes they find time to enjoy all the sports, the lakes, and the city of Madison. Your stats fall in the average range for admitted students and it has s solid business school. It might be a good fit and worth checking out for an OOS option.

Besides U of Georgia, look at Virginia Tech, James Madison, Florida State, Miami Univ of Ohio and Ole’ Miss
