I am international student and have been waitlisted at stern. I have not applied for any sort of financial aid. Given the state of the economy do you think that many students might not be able to meet the expenses of NYU? Will this increase my chances of getting through?
Also I have been admitted at UT AUSTIN(Mccombs school of business). Which school is better for business(I am planning to double major in Accountancy and Finance) Stern or Mccombs?

I am really in a state of confusion and would really appreciate some comments and suggestions.

i didn’t think you COULD apply for aid as an international student?

NYU doesn’t have any good financial aid for international students.
Since you’re on the waitlist, write a letter and show some interest in getting off the waitlist. Have you gotten higher grades since your applied? Done anything significant? Tell them. Most people give up on the waitlist so you shouldn’t

NYU rank 5 on US News 15 on Business Week (best for finance, ibanking, internships)
Mccombs 10 on Us News 10 on Business Week

If NYU is your top choice tell them that you will enroll if you are accepted. When admissions see that you are willing to commit they are more prone to let you in. Of course that’s only if you decide 100% on NYU.
