Davidson has been my top choice for a while. I always thought it was sort of a reach, but I applied early decision to Dickinson, and was given the prestigious Benjamin Rush Scholarship. Do you think I'll get in?

Well if you applied early decision to another school and got in weren’t you then supposed to withdraw apps to other schools? If so it would seem to be a moot point.

Yes, you are supposed to withdraw all other aps if accepted early decision - unless he/she misspoke and applied early action.

sorry… yeah early action. I guess the late march jitters got to me.

Yup…maybe you should withdraw your name at DC. It’s the right thing to do and it could mean one less “waitlist” for someone on Thursday. Just sayin’

Congrats on the Dickinson scholarship…that’s huge. Are/were you a Belk nominee?

no… unfortunately was not a belk nominee.
but I am still unsure of whether I want to be at Dickinson. Davidson certainly has a lot of appeal for me. I guess I’ll just have to wait until tomorrow night at nine to hear. The suspense is killing me.

Yea I know what you mean I got accepted to Dickinson a while ago but Davidson has always been my number one. I really regret not applying ED but its ok and yea the suspense is killing me its not whether I get in or not its just knowing one way or another.

what’s the verdict jttoppers?
I got waitlisted… SHOOT
oh well, it’ll all work out.

Bradyquinnsmydog: If you want to come to Davidson, last year they accepted a LOT of waitlisted kids. Like, at least 20, maybe more. It was a LOT. So, there’s a huge chance you’d still get in.

i was waitlisted as well. if you look at the “additional information” link that is included in the message, it will show you that 33 girls were accepted off the wait list last year and 25 guys. pretty good odds! i’m definitely going to tell them i’m still interested.

It’s not definite that everyone will get off the wait-list, but your odds are definitely good. Showing interest is what will guarantee you a spot near the top of the wait-list. Last year, roughly when May 1st rolled around, they had filled only 430ish out of the nearly 500 spots they wanted to fill. So, yeah, if that’s what happened the first year Stephen Curry wasn’t going to be here, I can only imagine how the second will go (believe it or not, our basketball team was a sizable factor in a lot of people’s decisions!)
