helpppp!! need advice for transfering!

Im sorry to annoy everyone on this board by posting several messages...but I really need help!

Can anyone tell me how important is the rigor of classes when evaluating a transfer application? In addition, by rigor do they mean upper division vs. lower division, or the subject matter of the class, or both? I am applying to Brown and Williams from UCLA, but have only taken my general requirements, which are all lower division (although some were honors). I have idea how to improve my application (as far as courses), please enlighten me!

i think they just mean taking honors if its available, and at UCLA if you're taking honors courses that's pretty rigorous. I'd say you're good.

FYI, Williams looks incredible to me as well, but last year they took 10 out of 109. So very competitive. Good luck.

im with you on williams...i know its nrealy impossible to get in. im just attracted to their excellent art history program. thank you soo much for your help though. and good luck to you too!!

lol oh don't worry schhtefanie, you'll have no competition from me
:)

I decided to drop Williams from my list as I have enough reaches already and out of those 10, I highly doubt any of them were from a community college. Haha. Good luck.

you and i are in similar positions.. i start at UCLA this fall, but im prepping for transferring to dmouth, williams, brown, etc.

Any reason why you didn't start any pre-reqs?

hey, have faith in yourself. ive heard of some miracle stories of people who got into harvard, yale and such, although they were not "as qualified" as expected. where are you applying?

hey jimmy,

no, i actually did take pre-reqs, 3 to be specific, but 2 of them actually fulfilled my general requirements. I suggest doing that as well, especially iof you're going to double-major like myself. good luck, let me know if you have any questions about ucla.
