What questions do they ask during the phone interview? I am nervous as it is so short...

sorry, not applying for that, but your username brought my attention.

i’m a goalie, already admitted, looking to play… are you on the (ndsoccer) team?

i’m actually putting together my – super late – highlight video.

ndsoccer: Have you been notified of the interview? If not do you know when we hear if you have made it to the next round (phone interview)?

^ The site says early February but I have yet to hear a concrete date

If you look in the threads from last year, it seems as though the notifications for phone interviews happened on Feb. 1.

I wonder if we’ll hear anything tomorrow. Semi-finalists were emailed on 2/1 last year.

Good luck to all the applicants!!

:o I hope so, the wait is not good for nerves lol… and can anyone answer OP’s question?

I am sorry that I can not answer the OP’s question but I have heard that students who were accepted under EA are automatically entered into the scholarship program. First of all, is this correct? Second, I did not send in a formal application for the scholarship, I only sent in my application for admission, will this suffice for the application to the Scholarship program? Finally, will students like myself be notified if they are a semi-finalist tomorrow?

I applied and I do not think that all EA applicants are entered. You are either nominated by your school or recommended to apply by Notre Dame after being accepted EA. The application itslef was at least 5 essays, so I do not believe that the admissions application would suffise.

I was nominated through my school but I don’t think all accepted EAers were entered. I think you would have been notified to complete the application. I think it was totally separate from the admissions process.

^ what she said, but remove the "I think"s.

no emails today…

Do they notify you if you haven’t made it on to the next round?

Also, I think you have to apply specifically to HYSP in order to be considered. The application was so long that they could never consider someone for the program that only did the three 150-word essays on the regular application.

If you read last year’s thread, it appears they notified everyone by email on the same day, whether they advanced to the next round or not. No one may have been in the office today to send out emails, given the horrendous weather!

I really hope they get the news out fast, I hate waiting! also, has anyone figured out what kind of questions are asked?

BTW, just to clear up any confusion. There are three ways to be nominated according to an admissions counselor that I spoke to: 1) you can self nominate 2) guidance can nominate you 3) admissions counselor can nominate you. They told me the strongest nomination to receive is the one from the admissions counselor because they know better than the others what ND is looking for in their scholarship pool. If you self nominate or are nominated by guidiance then the app deadline was 12/15ish (I think.) If you were nominated by admissions then the deadline was extended to 1/3 because you recd the nomination after you were accepted EA. The application was very lenghty. Good luck to everyone who was nominated. Thats all I know. I have no idea when we get the next notification for the phone interview etc. GOOD LUCK AGAIN!

I hate waiting :s
does anyone know for sure what the deal was with that email regarding collaboration between Reilly and HY? It sounded like HY finalists will go up Reilly weekend but to participate in the HY events rather than Reilly…but the website still lists the last weekend in March for HY finalists…

You received an email stating that Reilly and HYS weekends are on the same date? When did you get that email and what exactly did it say? I don’t think we got anything.

I got the email on Jan 10. It says to register for Reilly, and if you are chosen as a HYSP finalist, you will come to notre dame the same weekend as reilly weekend but participate in the HYSP program instead of reilly activities.

Oh Ok now i understand. Thanks and congrats on being accepted into the Reilly program. Thats great! Good Luck with all the rest…
