Hey :D Chance me for SCS?

<p>Hi. I was wondering what were my chances to get into the SCS at Carnegie Mellon? Thanks for taking the time to look at this thread.</p>

<p>GPA: 4.3 weighted, 3.8 unweighted
I. All honors/ap classes and all 5's on AP Tests
II. Rank - top 15%</p>

<p>SAT: 780 Math: 800 CR: 780 WR
I. SAT Chem - 800
II. SAT Math IIc - 800</p>

<p>Ethnicity - Asian American</p>

<p>Summer/other Programs: Columbia Summer High School Program, New Jersey Governor's School, Columbia Science Honors Program, Internship at NYU</p>

<p>EC's: Math Team Captain, Computer Science team captain, Academic Decathalon, Work for a group that raises money for people that need orthodontic treatment regarding cleft lips, Environmental Club, volunteer EMT</p>

<p>Computer Experience: Extensive knowledge of Unix based systems (linux and BSD), programming experience (C, C++, Java, ASM, Python, Perl, PHP), am founder of a LUG (Linux Users Group) in my area, code webpages, make facebook applications using PHP, have a small Android Application Programming company of which I am the co-founder</p>

<p>Side note: I like Harry Potter, parabolas (check the username!), Lord of the Rings, the Illuminatus!Trilogy, playing the bass, going to museums, moshing, and sleeping :P</p>

<p>You have good stats for sure. But TBH, so does everyone who applies to SCS at Carnegie Mellon. Carnegie Mellon has said over and over again they dont want the “nerd” (no offence) with perfect scores. They want someone with a wide variety of interests, not just sitting in front of a computer all day. If you expressed that in your application, you should be golden.</p>

<p>As long as you talked about what sets CMU apart from other schools you should be fine.</p>
