For the members of this board who scored 2000+ on the SAT, what test prep books/sites did you use? Have any of you taken classes, I dont know if its worth it. Currently I have the official blue book, rocket review, kaplan psat, and Iam planning on using smartdoodle.com and number2.com. Is this good prep. to achieve a 2000+ score on the SAT.
THxx

Barron's 2400 + the blue book for practice

just the blue book.
I registered for number2.com, but didn't find it worth it.
I also used the Kaplan book a bit, but didn't like it at all.

blue book, mcgraw hill and barrons sat I

just barron's

Self study. Don't go to private tutoring no matter what. I tried that and the only thing that came out of it was some thousand dollars of spending.

Blue book is the best and then practice, practice, practice.

Have any of you used Rocket Review or smartdoodle.com?

I used Kaplan and Barron's. IMO, Barron's was superior. I did number2 but that was required for school (I didn't feel it helped me for SATs)

sphoenixee

barron's is slightly harder than the actual test so if you do well on barrons you're pretty well off.

I tried aprinceton review course, and my score went up by about 30 points, not by that much. Then I tried independent study with the official college board SAT book, in conjunction with the new sat guide by tutorfox, and my score went up to 2080, from 1820.

Blue book! and maybe the others for practice tests

blue book, princeton review 12 sat tests, barrons 2400

I used Up Your Score: The Underground Guide to the SAT. It didn't really help me with the math portion (640), but the book, along with the studying I did for the AP Language exam pushed me up 80 points on my verbal to an 800 and 110 points on my writing section to a 750. This jump was from the March SAT to the June SAT, though I didn't start studying with Up Your Score until the weekend beforehand. Take into consideration, however, that I did a lot of studying for AP English Language -- and the MC questions are harder for that than the SAT Verbal.

Rocket Review gives good "testing tips" if you are not a very good test-taker. It teaches you a lot about how you should approach the test, rather than just learning about the subject matter. If you do fine on standarized tests, you shouldn't need Rocket Review because a lot of it is quite intuitive if you are already experienced.

Otherwise, it is a fair review book. It claims that its practice test (there's only one) is the most accurate, but I don't think they are significantly better than the practice tests found in PR and other prep books.

Ok, then Rocket Review sounds like a good book then. I thnk I will get Barrons 2400 as well, since many users on CC like it. Is March a good time to take it? and will 30 min each day till march, be good for the SAT?

yeah that should be fine

Kaplan's regular SAT book/ CD rom and private tutoring in maths... 2190 (620 M 770 CR 800 W).

i tutored myself and got a 2310......
