ALso, I still cannot decide whether to take the SAT a 4th time. WIll it increase my chances if i score high or decrease my chances cuz i took it 4 times?

bumper cars

bumper cars

bumper cars

bumpssssss

Bump bump bump

Ugh this is depressing

Oh my gosh ! don’t be so impatient !! you need to give it time waiting 15 minutes is not enough time to let people comment.

ok sorry :P

bump
sorry i’m impatient

I wouldn’t take it again, particularly if Penn is high on your list, given that they require all test dates.

any other opinions? chances at each?

similarish stats…interesting in chancing but i have no qualifications to chance lol

It would be helpful to know your AP scores, but assuming 4s and 5s on all of those exams, I would say NYU is a safety. The rest are reaches for everyone. Make sure your essays and rec letters are great since your SAT and ACT are a bit low for those schools. I would definitely make sure to choose a couple safeties to apply to.

darn :frowning: oh well

Don’t take it personally. The Ivies can be pretty random for everyone. I’m assuming you’re applying in the sciences, and ED will help at Columbia, but I would not rely on it. I’m just saying I would make sure to select a couple safety schools you think you can be happy at.

it’s okay. I just visited some schools recently (brown, havard, yale, bc, northeastern) and now I’m all paranoid about getting in cuz they were so nice. I guess I should stop attaching myself to the really tough schools

any other opinions? or are those schools really out of reach?

I don’t think those schools are out of reach; I think you’re in a position to reach the stage where everyone is qualified and schools’ methodology for selection becomes a bit foggier. Killer essays and recs will be critical to improving your chances. I would also caution that with all of your clubs you make sure you don’t come across as someone who spread him/herself too thin and became minimally involved in as many activities as possible for college purposes.

You have a shot at those schools. the key is to reveal a passion of yours. also dont retake the sat. Its really not a huge factor in admissions and you can better spend your time with other activities.
